Steve House
I am a designer and educator with 18 years of creative industry experience in the UK and Australia.
I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy; I am also a member of D&AD and AGDA. I have dual Australian and United Kingdom citizenship.
I first studied at LCC – University of the Arts London, where I was awarded HND Typographic Design and BA(Hons) Graphic Design. I have also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education, and a Masters in Education at University of Bath.
I began my career working in London with TBWA, Aqueduct, and Luminous, I then worked in Sydney with Landor, Frost and Marlin.
In 2011 I launched the creative agency Ten Thousand; since 2018 I have worked as a freelance creative director on projects with clients in the UK, Europe and Australia. In addition to my ongoing creative practice I work as Senior Lecturer and Head of Year for BA Graphic Design at Falmouth University.
I have previously taught on undergraduate and postgraduate courses at UTS – University of Technology Sydney, Enmore Design Centre, and Shillington at their Sydney and London campuses.
My ongoing creative work with a diverse range of clients has been awarded and exhibited, and insight from this practice complements and strengthens my activity as an educator. My experience in the creative industry continues to successfully inform my approach to the creation of stimulating, challenging and supportive learning experiences for students.
